1. Return Window and Withdrawal Right

Most eligible online purchases may be returned within 14 days of delivery.

If you are a consumer in Finland or the European Union, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for eligible distance purchases, subject to legal exceptions.

The withdrawal period generally begins when you or a person appointed by you receives the goods.

2. Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, the item should:

Be returned in its original condition, where possible
Include original packaging, tags, accessories, manuals, and parts where applicable
Be accompanied by proof of purchase, such as an order number, receipt, or confirmation email
Be handled only as necessary to inspect its nature, characteristics, and functionality

If an item has been used beyond what is necessary to inspect it, we may reduce the refund amount where permitted by applicable law.

3. Non-Returnable Items

Returns or refunds may be refused for items that are not eligible, including where applicable:

Personalized or custom-made items
Perishable goods
Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed
Items returned after the applicable return window
Items damaged, altered, or used beyond normal inspection by the customer
Any other items clearly marked as non-returnable where permitted by law

This section does not limit mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.

4. How to Request a Return

To request a return, email support@alteaboutique.com with:

Your order number
Your full name
The item you want to return
The reason for the return
Photos, if the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect

If your return is approved, we will provide return instructions. Please do not send any item back without authorization.

5. Return Shipping Costs

Unless the item is defective, damaged, incorrect, or applicable law requires otherwise, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

We recommend using a trackable shipping service because customers are responsible for the returned item until it reaches us.

We do not charge a restocking fee for approved returns.

6. Returning the Item

After you notify us of your return or withdrawal request, you must return the goods within the required legal timeframe.

Returned items should be packed securely to prevent damage during return shipping.

7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If your item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible at support@alteaboutique.com with your order number and clear photos where available.

If the issue is confirmed, we will provide an appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement, refund, or another remedy required by applicable consumer law.

8. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you whether your refund is approved.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method where possible.

Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days after approval. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to post the refund.

Where statutory withdrawal rights apply, refunds will be handled according to applicable consumer protection law.

9. Original Shipping Costs

If you withdraw from an eligible purchase under statutory withdrawal rights, standard delivery costs may be refunded where required by law.

If you selected a more expensive delivery option than the standard delivery method offered, the extra cost of the upgraded shipping method may not be refunded where permitted by law.

10. Exchanges

We do not currently offer direct exchanges.

If you would like a different item, size, color, or variation, you may return the original item if eligible and place a new order.

11. Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.

If the order has not yet been processed or shipped, we will do our best to cancel it. If the order has already been shipped, the return process will apply after delivery, subject to applicable law.

12. Return Address

Please contact us before returning any item.

If your return is authorized, the correct return address and instructions will be provided at that time.
